Network Support Lead / Network Support Engineer
£300 - £350 a day
Taunton, Somerset

An experienced Network Support Lead / Network Support Engineer with experience covering Servers, Systems, MCP, Infrastructure, Windows 7, ITIL, Networks, Wintel, Virtualisation, VMware, Storage, Messaging, OAT, UAT and System Performance is required for a 6-12 month contract based in Taunton, Somerset.

Key Tasks of the Network Support Lead / Network Support Engineer:

To manage and co-ordinate the activities within the team, promoting best practise and ensuring service targets are achieved. Managing the delivery of IMT services to internal customers by supporting the Infrastructure; servers, systemsmanaging the workflow and resources of the team to meet OLA / SLA's targets in line with guidance from the Service Delivery Manager; ensuring staff comply with policies and procedures
- Ensuring cost effective use of Information Systems resources, to include computer hardware, software, training facilities and staff time
- Assisting in the management of support service contracts with external providers where applicable. The Network Support Lead / Network Support Engineer must be focused on the timely delivery of solutions to support the business needs at all times.

The successful Network Support Lead / Network Support Engineer should have all of or the majority of the following experience:

One or all of the following certifications / qualifications:
* Microsoft Certified Professional qualified or equivalent.
* Microsoft trained/certified in Windows 7.
* VMware Certifications
* ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
* Microsoft Certification in related Server and/or Network technologies (MCP)

Network Support Lead / Network Support Engineer experience required:

* Wintel - Server including virtualisation, Storage, Messaging & Service/Data Recovery
* Define and maintain the overall computer design/configuration models and ensure they meet the computer systems functional and performance requirements.
* Recommend and implement standards for configurations, tools and products.
* Provide support to the Front Office Support Technicians, Back Office Support Technicians and projects as required.
* Use management software and appropriate analysis equipment to collect system statistics, model performance, and create reports including proposals for improvement.
* Where necessary also use this information along with details of current and expected technology change, system growth and business needs to provide complex capacity planning models for future planning and budgeting.
* Carry out research and development of technical products in accordance with project requirements. Provide technical options papers with risk analysis, costs and implementation plans.
* Carry out complex configuration/installation and reconfiguration of hardware and software for projects as required.
* Carry out operational acceptance testing of new and/or changed systems in relation to server support. Monitor system performance and robustness during user acceptance testing.
