Network Support L2 Cisco Checkpoint or ASA Long term role

5+ years as a network engineer preferably for long term contract with excellent rates.

Required Skills:

- Cisco (routing and switching)
- Checkpoint Firewall-1 (other Firewall experience will be considered)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferable Skills: (any of the below are a plus)

- Arista Networks Switches
- ADVA Optical Networking (DWDM)
- McAfee Proxies
- CiscoWorks
- Nortel Contivity
- Low Latency Networking experience

Role specifications

Provide support for the Australia/New Zealand business in the Data Networks space: routing, switching, MAN/WAN/Internet connectivity, proxies, VPNs, Firewalls, etc. You will interface with colleagues from the local infrastructure and application IT teams as well as the 24x7 NOC group in Singapore and other international Networks colleagues.

Almost all changes to the environment take place on Saturdays, anywhere from 7am to 8pm. There are changes occurring every weekend, so there is an expectation that any given person in the team will work some weekends per month. Time worked on Saturday is returned back as Time in Lieu the following week.

The team covers a 7:30am to 6:30pm support window, with early and late shifts. Shifts can be negotiated with the manager as required but flexibility around this is required.

Each member of the team is part of an on-call roster, where once a month the on-call engineer is the primary interface with the NOC for after hours calls, however the call volume is low.
