Network Support Engineer

My client is a respected Government organisation looking for a Network Support Engineer to join their team for an initial 6 month contract with view to extend.

We are looking for someone who has a SOLID NETWORKING BACKGROUND with proven experience in supporting Switches/Routers & with knowledge of wireless networks.

SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supporting network users, applications developers and management in the use, operation and maintenance of the organisation's networks by providing 2nd and 3rd level help desk support.
- Management and implementation of a large local area network, including Switches, Routers, wireless access points, wireless controllers and cabling.
- SUPPORT AND INSTALLATION OF CISCO Routers.
- Management of Firewalls, Proxy Servers, load balancers and other network appliances.
- Ability to work rotating shifts between 7:30am and 6pm Monday - Friday.
- Proven experience with TCP/IP
- Proven experience in installation and support of Cisco Routers
- Proven experience in implementing and managing a large LAN, including Switches, Routers, wireless access points, wireless controllers and cabling
- Excellent communication skills written & verbal
