Network Security Engineer - 35-55k+ hedge fund bonus

Location:Central London

A global hedge fund is looking to hire an intelligent junior level network security engineer who has a clear passion and interest in security and in ensuring resilience and the protection of highly valuable financial information.

* The engineer should have some knowledge of networking/security including: Firewalls (NG), IDS / IPS, Web / E-mail Security Gateways, Network Segmentation, Switching / Routing security. CCNA/CCNP qualifications are desirable.
* The engineer should also be confident with basic automation or scripting tasks with either SQL/Perl or Powershell, or at the very least be able to show a genuine passion in this area so that the team can invest time teaching the engineer.

This will be the ideal role for an academic, intelligent candidate with a couple of years IT experience after university (ideally with a 2.1 or higher) as this is how most the of engineers started within the business, which is driven by organic growth and an impressive training schedule. Strong network security candidates with more experience (and ideally good academics) will also be applicable in order to provide further expertise to a rapidly growing security function within an innovative, forward thinking financial firm.
