Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer Job

NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER (NOC) ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in St. Louis, Missouri.

Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Basic knowledge of network topology and TCP/IP
- Basic knowledge of network operations tools such as MARS, Netcool, D.R.U.M., Hammer, Tekmark Provisor, Everstream, WebTop

What You'll Be Doing:
- Performs basic network operations functions such as monitoring information on all sites and back haul, identifying deterioration of components and dispatching/assisting field personnel with repairs
- Handles incoming trouble calls
- Works closely with engineering, field technicians, marketing and vendors to resolve service issues
- Resolves network problems/faults; escalate as necessary to appropriate parties

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Basic understanding in network operations
- Basic ability to work with internal/external clients, various operation support groups, vendors, carriers and utilize all network tools and resources to resolve the majority of trouble tickets assigned
- Basic ability to troubleshoot and event/alarm correlation skills
- Basic knowledge of network topology and TCP/IP
- Basic knowledge of network operations tools such as MARS, Netcool, D.R.U.M., Hammer, Tekmark Provisor, Everstream, WebTop

Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:
- Has experience working with high volume. Call center experience usually translates well. Possesses ability to type fast, use multiple programs across dual screens, and should be capable of running a conference bridge eventually.
- Has earned some type of technical certification and not just taken the training classes. It can be A+, Net+, Cisco CCENT/CCNA, or entry level Juniper.
