Network Migration Planner

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
client is undertaking an initiative to transform their global Wide Area Network Service. A project has been started to implement a range of connectivity services to fulfil the business objectives, by replacing current connectivity services and introducing new/innovative network solutions to End Users. Besides implementing the technical network solutions, the project will ensure process integration by implementing integration between service management tools of different vendors in the IT Value Chain.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Migration Planner will be responsible to build and maintain a central planning for the WAN project, including all activities in migration scope. As part of this activity, the Migration Planner will plan migration dates and underpinning activities in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Lead for the region and relevant 3rd parties. Further, the Migration Planner will assure resources from client and 3rd parties are all identified, available and committed for the migrations involved.
Additionally, all prerequisites for migrations are monitored and reported if incomplete, such as change management approval, technical and operational readiness and testing procedures.
The Migration Planner will ensure a Real Time' view of project progress across the regions on a detailed level, to ensure central tracking and handling of exceptions by Project Management/PMO. The Migration Planner will work closely with Project leads, coordinators and 3rd parties to enable this central view on project progress
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the overall project plan for full migration workload
- Identify issues and bottlenecks in project resourcing and raise to appropriate project staff
- Assure completeness of prerequisites for each migration
- Assure completeness and correctness of planning constraints, such as business implementation windows, freeze periods, site dependencies
- Monitor progress of migration preparation and improve approach based on experiences
- Maintain the project repository with regards to planning and documentation of migrations prerequisites
- Actively prepare and participate in project meetings on project planning and change management
- Support the Project lead and coordinators in detailed preparations, where required
MANDATORY FIELDS
1. Experience with large, international wide area network roll-outs
2. Experience in project planning and maintaining complex schedules
3. Fluent in English
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE
Analytical capabilities/methodical worker
Relevant infrastructure knowledge (experience with Networks and Service Providers)
Excellent in verbal and written communication (reporting, documentation)
Pro-active and persistent personality with focus on details
Experience in project planning and maintaining complex schedules
Experience in developing and handling workflows
Understanding of ITIL Change Management
Experience with Network transformation is preferred
Fluent in English. Knowledge of Spanish has added value.

Location: Oslo, Norway
Full time contract with occasional travel to other locations
