Network Field Engineer

Network Field Engineers required for a busy Government Department.

For a PSN Compliance Project visit sites, securing existing cabinets or replacing/installing new cabinets.

The role will be based in Edinburgh however there will be a requirements for regular travelling to visit other sites, including overnight stays, as required by the project.
Comms cabinet documentation - including existing circuits, data/telephony connections and associated hardware.
Securing existing cabinet or removal and installation of a replacement.
Re-installation of existing circuits, data.telephony connections and associated hardware.
Testing WAN/LAN connections.
A full clean driving licence is essential.
The sites and the nature of the work will require someone who can negotiate stairs and carry equipment.
Limited experience of supporting networks and working in multi-skilled teams.
Practical experience of Comms rooms, cabinets, WAN and LAN hardware and data/telephony cabling.
A willingness to take on responsibility and ownership of tasks.
A solid working knowledge of network technologies and tools required to support and test diverse WAN and LAN infrastructures.
The ability to solve complex problems in a methodical and reasoned fashion.

Candidates must hold a current Disclosure Scotland Certificate.
