Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Network expert - Support team on our prestige customer site in central Frankfurt, Germany. Package description
Salary information available upon application - Relocation assistance will be provided. Main responsibilities
- Support implementation phase of technical services (15 services), in specifications, integration, test, acceptance and deployment stages, focusing of aspects related to network integration, mainly for the Development network, which is a "mirror" to the Production network:
- evaluate and execute changes and service requests according to provided operating procedures while maintaining agreed service levels and deadlines;
- contribute to the deployment of services in production by advising on the production impact of planned changes, assisting Data Centre Operations in the roll-out and post implementation;
- deploy, configure systems and environments, to integrate services under development with the standard infrastructural components and according to the service network design and network policies (zoning concept);
- document installation and operational procedures for further deployments in Data Centre Operations;
- review technical documentation related to network integration;
- ensure required resource requirements are understood and timely communicated to respective team leaders;
- liaise with technical teams for the acceptance and handover of service in production;
- support end-users during pilot phase for introduction of new services.
- Plan and support the relocation of network devises in the data centre (one -off activity).
- Support network operation, including monitoring, identifying and need for and performing .preventive or remedial maintenance.
- Investigate, diagnose and resolve network incidents (2nd and 3rd level support) and problems using available tools and referring to external suppliers if required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical, configuration management, inventory and troubleshooting documentation related to business and technical services.
- Proactively identify and communicate improvements to services, technologies, processes and documentation.
- Plan, prepare and document of maintenance activities (such as hardware firmware, and software upgrades).
- Provide knowledge transfer to other colleagues in the Data Centre section and ensure sufficient documentation is available.
- Support design and preparation of recovery and contingency exercises to ensure system recovery in accordance with the predefined plans and documentation.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Education and qualifications:
Engineering and design experience
Knowledge and skills:
- More than 5 years' experience working in developing, implementing and operating DC-Hosting network-infrastructures or perimeter networks with transition of technical services to these networks.
- At least 5 years' experience working with: Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst, Checkpoint Firewalls or F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers.
- At least 5 years' experience working with ITIL processes, particularly change, incident and problem management.
- Very good command of English with proven drafting ability.
- Good knowledge and experience of DNS would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of WiFi and NAC technology would be an advantage.
- Advanced experience in technical documentation would be an advantage.
- Higher level of Cisco certification would be an advantage.
- Project Management or Activity Co-ordination experience would be an advantage.
- Practise to align these ITIL processes to altered or new requirements would be an asset.
- Previous working experience in an international organization would be an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information system security, or related disciplines would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
