Network Engineer Planner

Our direct client in Salt Lake City, UT is looking for a Network Engineer Planner for a 6 month contract with likely extensions.

Responsibilities include:
- Developing plans, design resource requirements, and cost estimates for construction and maintenance projects involving transmission and distribution facilities, telecommunications, generation maintenance projects and facilities, and properties and facilities projects.
- Writing and assembling work packages consisting of drawings, work descriptions and procedures, and necessary parts to direct crews throughout operations.
- May plan and coordinate resource availability to the Company; may plan for and accommodate the Companys load obligations.
- Monitoring systems operations and adjusting operational plans accordingly.

Other Responsibilities
- Design, Implement and maintain the substation video surveillance networking system.
- Develop data and IP network plans for network upgrades and expansion in accordance with departmental objectives.
- Interface with cross-functional teams throughout the company and assess network impacts.
- Basic project management skills.

Required:

- Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of three years related experience.
- Comprehensive experience in telecommunications engineering and at least one specialty technical discipline.
- Certified Network Engineer, eg CCNA or Professional Engineer.
- Knowledge of current technologies, tools, applications, and vendors.

Plusses:

- Prefers experience with enterprise data centers with Cisco Nexus Switches.
- Experience with Internet environments including F5 load balancers and Firewalls.
- Cisco ISE experience is a plus."Nexu
