My client, a large global consultancy is looking for a Network Engineer/Network SME/Network Consultant (Cisco CCIE, Cisco CCDE, Cisco Nexus) for a 5 months freelance contract opportunity based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

To be successful with your application you will need to be able to demonstrate experience of the following:

Technical Skills required:

- Cisco certifications including CCIE or CCDE are preferred.
- Expertise in Designing, Configuring, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and optimizing Cisco Nexus 7K,5K,2K, 6500, catalyst series Switches, Cisco F5 Load Balancer LTM and GTM, Infoblox, Cisco WAAS WAN Accelerator etc.
- Knowledge on advanced TCP/IP concepts, switching, routing protocols Layer 2, Layer 3 protocols.
- Expertise in Cisco Nexus technologies like vPC, VDC etc.
- Strong understandings of DCI (Data Center Interconnect) using FabricPath
- Excellent knowledge and experience of Cisco Network Security, Checkpoint,  ASA Firewalls and other models
- Strong understanding of MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Multicast, ipv6, DWDM, SONET, Metro Ethernet, LAN/WAN network design, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Good understandings of SAN Technologies (FC, FCoE, NPV, NPIV, FSPF, iSCSI, etc.).
- Ability to design a Large Scale Enterprise Network using Cisco recommended best practices.
- Working knowledge of Incident/Problem/Change Management frameworks such as ITIL v3, TQM or ISO 9000:2000 (certification not required, but is a plus).

Role and Responsibilities

- Responsible for troubleshooting, installing, implementing, and administering network systems and providing tier II and tier III support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Solution, Designing, Monitoring, Integration, Support/Maintenance and Architecture.
- Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on client engagements and provide technical guidance to the team.
- Understand Customer business deployment needs and design solutions building Enterprise Networks (LAN/WLAN/WAN/Datacenter).
- Design and implement network systems. Provides support for network connectivity or related network issues for the user community.
- Recommend network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
