Network Engineer Job

NETWORK ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in St Louis, Missouri.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Experience activating and maintaining customer premise equipment (CPE) per the DOCSIS and PacketCable specifications
- Ability to maintain and administer UNIX-based (*nix, Solaris, Linux) computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Maintaining and administering UNIX-based (*nix, Solaris, Linux) computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Performance tuning, package installation, patch management updates, network and server management issues
- troubleshooting network issues
- System Monitoring for bugs
- Maintaining Switches and Firewalls
- Configuration of CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) using the TR-069 and related specifications

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Experience activating and maintaining customer premise equipment (CPE) per the DOCSIS and PacketCable specifications
- Experience with configuration of CPE using the TR-069 and related specifications
- Strong comprehension of the DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and TFTP protocols
- Ability to maintain and administer UNIX-based (*nix, Solaris, Linux) computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Basic experience with performance tuning, package installation, patch management updates, network and server management issues
- Basic knowledge of troubleshooting tools (ie tcpdump, netstat, iostat, traceroute, snoop)
- Basic experience with System monitoring applications (Nagios, Solarwinds, HP Openview, etc).
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN topology, network protocols (TCP/IP, FTP, NFS), Switches and Firewalls
