Network Engineer IP Job

NETWORK ENGINEER IP needed for a CONTRACT opportunity for Yoh's client located in the St. Louis, Missouri area.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Establishes and maintains network performance by building net configurations and connections; troubleshooting network problems.
- Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- The candidate must have in depth knowledge of IOS and IOS-XR.
- The candidate must have strong working knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, ISIS, RIP, EIGRP, PIM, LDP - OSPF is a suitable substitute of ISIS since many non service provider Engineers. Not all of these are required, but a firm base knowledge is a big plus.
- The candidate must be knowledgeable in programming methodologies.
- The candidate must be capable of creating and updating Perl scripts to interact with network devices to pull show commands and other data to retrieve and manipulate that data to extract information in a programmatic manner.
- Fully capable using REGEX to search and manipulate data
