MINIMUM TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

At least five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years troubleshooting and working with:

-

Network Operating Systems (Cisco IOS)
-

Cisco Products:
-

Routing-EIGRP, BGP, etc.
-

Switching - VSS, Spanning Tree, Identity Services Engine (ISE)
-

ASA Firewalls
-

Campus Wireless Networking
-

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
-

Monitor and ensure the quality and maintainability of all deployed technologies

HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

It is HIGHLY DESIRABLE for the candidate to have the following listed experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:

Routing including EIGRP, BGP, HSRP and VRF lite
-

QoS configuration
-

Working knowledge of ITIL/Service Management/Change Management business practices
-

Work collaboratively across technical teams

Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Work effectively as a team player or independently

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

- It is desirable for the proposed project person to have the following listed experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:

Cisco VoIP including Call Manager, Unity Connection and CUBE Routers
-

Cisco wireless technology including WLC configuration and Cisco Prime Infrastructure
-

Cisco ISE configuration and troubleshooting

Our Client employs a three (3) level technical support system:

-

Level 1 = Service Desk handles call
-

Level 2=Escalated to On-Site Services
-

Level 3=Escalated to System & Security Administration or Network Infrastructure

Under direction of the Client Network Infrastructure Manager or designee, primary responsibilities include the following:

Provide Level 3 on-site support as necessary in the plan, design, implementation, and troubleshooting of Client network include following:

-

Assist Network Infrastructure staff in troubleshooting the most complicated problems arising from modifications, installation and general operation of the infrastructure system.
-

Assist with planning testing, implementation, and documentation of new technologies and their integration with existing infrastructure.
-

Assess network infrastructure, security, and monitoring for optimal functionality.
-

Recommend improvements to network infrastructure, security, and monitoring.
-

Document existing Network Infrastructure where gaps in documentation exist or updates are required.
-

Work outside of business hours (7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) as needed. - Participate in discussions and provide consulting services regarding network infrastructure.

The scope of this matter will include but not be limited to the assessment of existing and/or new technologies into the CalSTRS network core routing and switching which currently includes several critical technologies.
