Projektbeschreibung
The Network Engineer will report to the Networking Technical Coach. He/she will be part of a team performing the operations and maintenance of the European Commission's network including the LAN in 85 buildings (spread over Brussels and Luxembourg), 5 Data Centres, the connections between those locations and the secure connections towards the outside world.
Duties and responsibilities:
*Responsible for the LAN infrastructure (Cisco), MPLS backbone, loadbalancers and WIFI (Cisco controllers et access points)
*Participate to projects improving network reliability and performance
*Participate to the 2nd level support for incident management and request fulfilment (including occasional participation to Service Desk role)
*Testing of new configuration, equipment and releases
*Reporting on network/security usage and performance
*Develop and maintain a high standard of documentation (procedure, process)

Routing (Cisco): (MP-)BGP, ISIS, OSPF, multicast
MPLS: L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, Traffic Engineering, VRF
WIFI Cisco: WISM, Captive portal, Access Point, Clean Air
Event Manager (EEM), CCNP Certification
Languages:
Good knowledge of French/English (written and oral), any other language is an extra advantage
Working location/hours: Brussels/Office hours + monthly guard duty
