Network/Data Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supports the mobility VPN consolidation/migration project. The project will focus on standardizing and reducing the number of VPNs to reduce network complexity. In addition the project involves L2 to L3 conversions, migrating from OSPF to BGP routing between PE and CE networks, and correcting inconsistencies in the current network deployment. New Gold Network design standards will be applied during the migration and guide new builds.
- Implements complex Router configuration changes.
- Troubleshoots unexpected outcomes for compliance.
- Card and circuit additions (and testing thereof).
- Interfaces with multiple systems for ticket generation, alarm clean-up.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes multiple concurrent tasks nationally.
- Communicates concisely to workforce the intended tasks and the resulting outcomes to management.

SKILLS

Required Certifications: CCNP and CCNA. Must have expertise in Cisco CLI, Cisco ios-xr, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, LDP, MPLS, and IP Addressing and subnetting. Knowledge of JunOS desired.
