Network Architect

Position Title: Network Architect
Duration: 12 month contract
Location: Atlanta, GA 30309

Our client is seeking a Network Engineer/Architect for a 6 month, contract to permanent position in the Midtown Atlanta area.  Candidate will work as a member of a group responsible for architecture and design of IP data and telecommunications network connectivity within the client's enterprise. Candidate should have an advanced understanding of architecture and design issues in a complex enterprise network.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- WAN/LAN network architecture
- Conventional and VoIP telephony
- IP Addressing
- Mobile networking, network services (eg DNS/DHCP), Internet/DMZ/VPN environments, 802.11 wireless systems, videoconferencing
- Network security (Firewalls, IDS/IPS), as well as network monitoring, management, and performance tools and methods.
- A significant part of the required daily activities involves documentation related to technical standards and network design as well as project management and change management methodologies.
- Depending on the project, some travel and/or overtime work may be required.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum four year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Six years of experience in an architect, design and/or project implementation role for a large enterprise network.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco network hardware including Routers, Switches, and security appliances
- Knowledge and experience with networking protocols and configurations including OSPF, BGP, HSRP, multicast, SIP, QoS, VLANs, and MPLS.
- Experience with design and implementation of data center networks, including blade server environments and server virtualization.
- Experience with design and implementation of telephone systems and related voice technologies
- Experience with wireless and mobile networking
- Experience with the design of physical networks including fiber and copper cabling
- Knowledge and experience with network management systems
- Familiarity with operating systems (Cisco IOS, Linux, Windows) and Scripting languages
- Experience in project management methodology
