Network Analyst Z/os, Admin, Syplex

NETWORK ANALYST Z/OS, ADMIN, SYPLEX

A leading name in global IT require a Network Analyst for administration of the z/OS Network on client's mainframes environment.

You will be required to, Install, customize, tune, maintain and upgrade Network related products.

Take full advantage of the Network and related software such as VTAM-APPN, TCP/IP, Netview, Netview Access, OSA, JES328X and PCOMM.

Provide technical support to Help Desk operators and Users community.

Provide on-the-job training and skill transfer to Network co-workers.

Assist in development of other Network connections such as LAN and WAN.

Perform networking assistance to all internal groups and services (LAN, WAN, Security, z/OS, Applications).

Plans and implements corporate strategies for new technology, and assists with development of corporate technology standards.

Maintain state of the art knowledge of z/OS telecommunications software.

KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead a project team in installation testing and implementation of Mainframe based Network products.

Develop and manage projects related to the design, support and implementation of telecommunications software.

Full spectrum of VTAM and TCP/IP system programming activities, including product installation, customization, deployment, software tools integration, exploitation, and performance analysis activities.

In depth knowledge of Z/OS NETWORKING IN PARALLEL SYSPLEX.

Knowledge of Network Management Software (Netview, NetMaster)

Knowledge of Netview Access, OSA, JES328X and PCOMM.

In depth knowledge of project planning and management techniques.

Thorough in Netview Scripts (CLIST and/or REXX).

Customize TCP/IP (IP Addressing, mapping, SMTP, FTP, Telnet, etc), monitor and tune TCP/IP parameters depending on performance and availability reports.

Maintain resource definitions per user requests (port allocations, IP address definitions/deletions, etc.).

Maintain home-written usermods and exits.

Perform Network tuning such as VTAM internal buffers/Setting naming conventions and standards for Network.

Commanding level of VTAM & TCP/IP parameters especially for Performance and Tuning

DOCUMENTATION

Maintain an up-to-date Network Layout and Standards and Procedures documentation.

Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.

Determine plan layout for new hardware or modifications to existing layout.
