Network Administrator

We're the leading IT outsourcing company seeking a NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR with specialties in broad networking, server technologies, and Unix and Windows troubleshooting. THIS POSITION MAY WORK OFF HOURS AND MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR FIRST OR SECOND SHIFT.

This candidate will provide software support on standard systems, investigating, analysing, and resolving problems on selected products. Prepares documentation on existing and proposed solutions to meet customer needs.

ADMIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Monitors critical application and infrastructure nodes up/down status.
- Drives resolution of all production impairments as they occur on a normal basis. Owns the issue from start to finish and be accountable to assist teams when necessary to get resolution.
- Facilitates and coordinates maintenance efforts.
- Communicates impairment impact and status to the business.
- Provides initial issue/impairment verification and troubleshooting.
- Escalates to support teams for critical application and infrastructure impairments.
- Documents all involvement, impact, milestones and status changes regarding impairments.

SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES

- Configures, tests, debugs systems under direct supervision using well-defined procedures.
- Implements solutions to routine problems as directed by more senior level personnel.
- Installs standard, off-the-shelf products and associated updates on selected products.
- Interacts with the customer as directed by answering technical questions.

SKILL SETS

- Requires minimum of 5 years of related work experience, Bachelor's degree, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with Windows 2003/2008
- Unix OS: Solaris 10/11, HPUX (minimal)
- Linux OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4/5/6
- Services: Account Provisioning, Printers, BIND, NIS, Solaris Domain Management, Active Directory, LDAP
- Scripts: Shell Scripting (bash, ksh, csh), Perl
