Netbackup Engineer (Remote Position) Job

NETBACKUP ENGINEER needed for a REMOTE contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in St. Louis, MO.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting simple to moderately complex components of the storage and backup systems infrastructure.
- Represents the Storage Department in support of IT projects of varying scopes.
- Responsible for the evaluation and engineering associated with storage requests.
- Provides incident and problem resolution for simple to moderately complex issues and assists with performing disaster recovery exercises.
- Uses advanced knowledge of professional concepts and company objectives to resolve a wide-range of issues in a creative and effective way.
- Subject matter expert in select areas of responsibility.
- Assists with project planning; coordinates activities of project phases.
- Prepares and delivers informal and formal presentations to own team, department, and other IT teams.
- Participates in the development of standards, processes, and procedures for the department.
- Establishes, fosters and maintains relationships within the department. Interacts with other IT teams, business teams, and vendors, as assigned.
- Represents team in meetings outside of department.
- Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Strong troubleshooting skills, knowledge of best practices, and the ability to document solutions
- Experience with Symantec Netbackup (versions 7.5 & 7.6) and Symantec Backup Exec required
- Experience with EMC storage and backup solutions is required
- Multi Platform experience (Windows, UNIX, Oracle, AS400)
- Storage Area Network experience
- EMC Data Domain Scripting skills is a plus
- Experience with virtual provisioning is a plus
- MUST BE CURRENTLY ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE US FOR ANY EMPLOYER.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
