OVERVIEW

My client is one of the country's largest software development organisations. Operating successfully in Cork city for the last 15 years, my client employs a wide range of technologies including Mobile (iOS, Android, Windows), Java/J2EE (with Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Apache Tomcat), Oracle 9i, Microsoft ASP and ASP.NET, C#, C++, and even Cobol. My client provides consultancy and leading edge software solutions for a wide variety of US, EU and UK based clients in the insurance, healthcare, retail and public sector markets.

My client is seeking an experienced .NET developer for a contract position at our development office in Cork. This will be a technically challenging position, working on a major enterprise application. The role will require constant interaction with other developers in the team and project management to develop and maintain a robust, scalable, and performant system.

The Senior developer within the company takes a very active role on a project team, at both the technical design and code level, and at client and end user interfaces

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Requirements Analysis & Application Design
- Providing accurate estimates and timings to project managers
- Daily interaction with clients to facilitate successful project implementation
- Becoming a subject matter expert on client business processes, for example claims pricing and payment, provider networks and group/member structures
- Delivery of application development using standard web development methodologies
- Mentoring other developers within a project team & Peer code review
- Self-motivating toward on time delivery of high quality outputs
- Ensuring all QA procedures are satisfied in terms of process and documentation

ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED (SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING)

- Extensive commercial development experience in DATABASE DESIGN and DEVELOPMENT including enterprise data WAREHOUSE principles
- SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT using AGILE METHODOLOGIES
- Extensive commercial development experience in C# and ASP.NET
- DATA EXTRACTION, TRANSFORMING and LOADING (ETL) between systems using SQL tools (SSIS, DTS, BULK INSERT, BCP, XML) and .NET APPLICATIONS.
- Excellent knowledge of MS SQL Server including STRONG T-SQL (Stored Procedure) skills
- Commercial development experience with SOA and related technologies
- Good level of knowledge/experience of XML/XSLT AND XML SCHEMA WEB SERVICES, ADO.NET, LINQ
- Experience with .NET 3.X (WCF, WF) AND VB 6.0, COM+, ASP AND C++

- Third level IT or related qualification
