Middleware/DBA - Contract end of Financial year

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Middleware Specialist will focus on the implementation, support and development of those software elements that connect applications, databases and web Servers to each other. The role will liaise with a number of specialists across IT in the delivery of an efficient production service and may be involved in project work, consulting and advisory activities and the diagnosis and resolution of complex problems.

The Middleware Specialist is responsible for the configuration, administration and management of the Application Server framework. Responsibilities are varied and may include supervision, technical leadership, project leadership, analysis, investigation, design, implementation and administration. It is heavily involved in liaison with system users and IT technical staff and provides expert advice and assistance in the design, development, implementation and integration of information systems architecture.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful applicant will utilise their expertise in one of the following skill areas:

- Oracle Application Server, IIS and Microsoft Middleware, BEA/Oracle Weblogic and Apache.
- Experience preferably with ODI EXPERTISE in WebLogic middle tier
- Demonstrated experience fulfilling one or more of the roles :-
- Database Administrator, Systems Administrator, Web Server Administrator, Middleware Specialist, Application Enterprise Architect, within a large scale corporate systems environment.
