Mid-Level Java Developer - NYC Bank - Front Office Risk - 110k

My client, a majorNew York Cityinvestment bank, is in need of a junior core java expert to join a front office Risk IT team. This person will be developing real-time risk applications that calculate PnL across several financial domains (fixed income, credit, commodities). This is a fast paced environment and the person will be working with traders. Essential technical skills: · Exceptional development skills in OOPs (Java) · 3-5 years Application development experience in core server-side Java · Strong numerical skills ideally with a numerate degree - must be a good problem solver / use math! · Strong understanding of multi-threaded program design. · Experience of scripting languages such as Python and general Unix shell scripting is preferable · Experience of Financial Risk Management applications with knowledge of financial mathematics, including how instruments are priced and risk is measured. · Understanding of Messaging Middleware concepts, usage and application · Ability to work closely with business groups including trading, finance, technology and market risk. Candidate must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills who possesses strong analytical skills and enjoys solving complex technical problems.
