POSITION DETAILS
GTN Technical Staffing is looking for a Cisco Network Engineer to join a client of ours on a long term contract basis. The initial contract will last at least six months and there is a high probability of extension. This role will monitor, maintain and enhance existing systems and network reporting services and associated Servers. You will be responsible for day-to-day operational support of our client's hosting production, development lab, Data Center and corporate IT networking environments. You will participate and contribute to the development and implementation of support tools and resources to enhance the local and remote support capabilities, as well as coordinate with developers, engineering and other staff members on issues related to existing system enhancements and new system implementations.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of experience in the following skill sets
Cisco Routers/Switches (C6500/C4900/C2900/C2600/3560E Series) - Configuration/Maintenance/Troubleshooting
OSPF & BGP Network/Routing Protocols - Configuration/Maintenance/Troubleshooting
Cisco IOS and CATOS - Configuration/Maintenance/Troubleshooting
Network Firewalls/VPN/DHCP Servers - Configuration/Maintenance/Troubleshooting
Understanding of TCP/IP/Vlan/HSRP/STP/DNS/SNMP/SMTP
UNIX/Solaris 9/10/FreeBSD, Linux - Administration/Support
Ability to participate in an on-call, 24x7 rotation.    

PREFERRED
Cisco Certifications - CCIE and/or CCNP
Open Source Monitoring Tools - Nagios or Netlogger or Cacti
Netflow Collector/Analyzer - Configuration
Scripting - Shell or Perl or Python
