Microsoft Business Intelligence Engineer

POSITION GOALS:

We are about to establish a project team of business analysts and engineers to build a new MSBI reporting platform for Group Finance.

The target of this new MSBI reporting platform is to:

- Build a multi-dimensional data cube for Economic Value Management data and in a later stage also for US GAAP External Reporting data (group-wide management information framework) owned by Group External Reporting.
- Replace the existing standard reports with new MSBI standard reports with consistent look and feel (IBCS standard)
- Enhanced ad-hoc reporting functionalities (slice and dice per entity, country, region, BU) with data from cube
- Introduce live dashboard functionality and a Group Finance reporting portal on SharePoint

MAIN TASKS/ACTIVITIES:

- Contribute to a Group Finance MSBI project in close collaboration with business experts, business analysts and application engineers
- Contribution to architecture and design of the MSBI based reporting platform
- Specification/design and implementation of the underlying data model for the reporting

Platform:

- Specification/Design and implementation of ETL layer using a custom ETL solution established by/in Group Finance IT
- Support the requirements analysis, design, and implementation of SSRS based reports
- Structured testing of the implemented solution Support in migration of MS Excel based

Solution to the new platform:

- Potentially support in a proof of concepts to support "Real Time", event driven datamart updates (eg using Apache Kafka)

Further, more general Business Analyst/Engineer tasks are also included in your daily work:

- Document and communicate change requests, business cases, user manuals for internal and external use
- Analyse and write user stories and test cases for new MSBI reporting platform
- Plan and steer testing and rollouts including user trainings communicate and present to a wide user community and application engineers

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- University degree or higher professional education in software engineering, finance, computer science, business analyses or experience in respective business areas
- Very good knowledge of MSBI architecture and its components, in particular of SSRS
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- High level of abstraction, fast understanding and conceptual thinking
- Experience in IT and finance project work
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Strong teamplayer in a global environment with business experts and application engineers
- OOD command of English, German is desirable
- Agile project management know-how (eg SCRUM) would be beneficiary
