MICROSOFT BI ARCHITECT, SSIS SSAS SSRS, REINSURANCE, CONTRACT, ZURICH

For our Client, a worldwide renowned Reinsurance Group based in Zurich, Swisslinx is looking for aMICROSOFT BI ARCHITECTto act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Microsoft BI Technology stack and proactively engage in product research and promotion of the Microsoft BI platform.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Microsoft technology stack: Architecture, Design and Engineering
-

define the architecture, concepts and design elements for Microsoft BI platform and oversee their implementation in cooperation with the MSSQL/BI support and operations team to deliver a constantly improving, cost efficient and highly available platform
-

close and committed cooperation with other teams (such as Application Teams, Windows Architecture and Engineering, Storage, Information Security etc.)
-

responsible for defining performance, integrity and security of the Microsoft BI platform
-

define the necessary processes that allows the MSSQL/BI support and operations team to proactively manage and monitor overall health and stability of systems in scope, including system related resources and underlying services
-

planning, complex problem analysis, troubleshooting and professional consultancy delivery to clients
-

ownership of the MSBI platform to ensure we deliver a stable, reliable and scalable environment to our clients, supporting them from a platform perspective to design and deliver BI Solutions to their customers
-

Engage in research in all topics pertinent to the Microsoft BI stack and also wider IT developments
-

Direct provision of, maintenance of and improvement of the Microsoft BI platform architecture based on stakeholder requirements
-

Create concepts and make design decisions for new solutions in Microsoft BI scope
-

Define and drive automation and self-service initiatives
-

Ensure quality documentation is in place (architecture etc.)
-

Strive for efficiency and cost improvements
-

Contribute to any IT Infrastructure or Application Infrastructure initiative

IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, WE ARE LOOKING TO FIND THE BEST CANDIDATES WITH THE FOLLOWING PROFILE:

-

Microsoft BI technology expert with focus and experience in the related Microsoft components (8+ years' experience in Microsoft BI technologies)
-

Expert knowledge of the Microsoft BI (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, SharePoint BI features, BI Clients) technology stack from an end to end perspective
-

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft BI concepts, architecture, engineering, implementation, usage and operations
-

Good understanding of alternative database platforms (Oracle, DB2 or similar)
-

Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud offerings (Azure, Power BI etc.)
-

Good understanding of wider infrastructure components such as network and storage
-

Service Management skills (at least ITIL Foundation certified)
-

Excellent capacity to communicate and coordinate with people at all levels in the organisation
-

Working experience with outsourced teams
-

Fluency in English
-

Ability to coach and support junior members of team
-

Result leadership in project management and in 4th level support requests are key

THIS IS A CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY FOR 6 MONTHS INITIALLY.
