The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and high-performing service working within Parliament at the heart of the public engagement agenda in a new role with scope to shape the direction of Education Service support services.

Member sponsored tours of the Palace of Westminster and Elizabeth Tower have become increasingly popular over the past three years to a point where they are now oversubscribed with a high administrative demand on staff to support the service. This has led to a requirement to review all areas of the Member Tour provision to ensure we are providing a robust and efficient process to allocate and deliver these tours.

This new role will lead the review and implementation of an updated service for three main areas of tour delivery for the Education Service.

1) Allocation of Member and Elizabeth Tower Tours to Members.
2) In House Guide Review (including staff contracting, scheduling, training and quality management).
3) Tour Script review and diversification.

The role will also assist in the day to day management of current tour allocation processes and will support delivery of a new booking system project for the Education Service.

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

- Experience of delivering of complex projects; demonstrable ability to work across multiple work streams simultaneously and of reporting to a board and/or senior project sponsor
- Excellent evaluation and analytical skills to review current business practice, identify project scope, assess multiple solutions and make evidence-informed recommendations
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and to make effective use of a variety of written tools (e.g. board papers, flow-charts and spreadsheets) to convey complex messages and information
