Experienced Medical Liaison required to cover Scotland. 9- 12 Month Contract with competitive salary + benefits. Skills : 2 years Oncology experience

Job Accountabilities:

The MSL is a member of a field-based team of scientists who function as a key part of the Medical Affairs organisation. This role focuses primarily on providing scientific, medical and educational support to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and colleagues and will be 100% dedicated to Oncology

Use specific oncology and product knowledge to support Clients oncology portfolio
Provide accurate and non-promotional scientific information relating to licensed and unlicensed products and indications following unsolicited requests from HCPs
Answer medical/technical enquiries from HCPs by the retrieval, evaluation and presentation of high quality information using in-house and external sources, in a timely manner
Keep up to date with clinical knowledge, published data and trial work for company products, including attendance at scientific meetings and conferences
Provide relevant education to HCPs in line with central and regional medical plans
Identify and establish contact with opinion leaders in current and future areas of interest
Identification and on-going interactions with national and local Opinion Leaders (OLs), for the purpose of ethical and high-level exchange of scientific information
Ensure good communication with internal teams such that requests received from HCPs are managed efficiently
Develop links with and support local and national professional / co-operative groups
Act as field-based reference points of scientific and clinical expertise for sales force and other internal stakeholders
Medical education, e.g. Support and present at local meetings and advisory boards; provide medical information booth support at local, regional and global conferences; support publications
Provide internal customer support through education and training of colleagues as required
Alignment with Clients project teams (e.g. brand teams and other UK and European central functions) to ensure alignment of field based medical activities with central plans
Liaise closely with the Medical Affairs department, specifically Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Advisors/Managers and Medical Director
Support Market Access team activities e.g. responding to medical and scientific enquiries following ABN, providing medical and scientific support to HTA submissions when required etc.
Development and support of national disease registries for relevant tumour types
Support of on-going and future company sponsored trials
Liaison between clinical operations and study sites e.g., visit trial centres as required to provide updates on product and trial results
Identification of appropriate trial centres for future trials for all oncology products
Respond to requests for investigator sponsored research in line with company procedure
Offer OL insights to support medical and scientific strategy and communications

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Qualifications

Physician, Pharmacist, PhD in a relevant scientific field or Nurse Practitioner qualification
Fluent written and spoken English

Experience

Minimum 2 years oncology experience in pharmaceutical industry
Experience of working within the ABPI Code of Practice

Skills

Communication and strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence at high level
Demonstrable thirst for knowledge (technical, clinical, medical, scientific), ability to assimilate information quickly, present clinical data clearly and concisely and discuss the statistical and clinical relevance in line with key messages
Ability to work autonomously, in a field-based setting whilst contributing positively to the central Medical Affairs team
Ability to drive performance of self and others
Highest ethical standards
Project management skills - to deliver on complex tasks within timeframe and manage milestones
Experience of working in a matrix management environment
Mature professional presence and credibility
Passionate and self-confident
IT skills in particularly competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Knowledge

In-depth knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice

Physical demands

Ability to drive or fly to attend meetings, audits, and training
Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.)
Carrying, handling and reaching for objects

Travel requirements

Willingness to travel, be away from home (large geographic territory and central briefings) and international destinations
Valid and clean driver's license
