Medical Recruitment Consultant

Our client is looking for an experienced medical recruiter to help them recruit doctors, locums and other medical staff.

This role will be to cover a period of maternity leave and will last at least 9 months.

As the medical recruiter, you will act as the internal point of contact to provide strategic and operational advice to senior managers and clinicians for issues pertaining to Medical and Dental (M&D) staff. Develop management capability of HR teams to enable them to advise managers and clinicians on the interpretation and application of M local and national electronic systems including E-Recruitment and the Electronic Staff Record, filing, control and archiving of documentation and effective communications with managers.

Carry out recruitment activity for consultant posts.

Provide administrative support to Trust committees as required.

Trust lead for Deanery, Dept of Health and SHA monitoring.

SERVICE DELIVERY

Day-to-day management of the medical resource service, managing the work of the Medical Resource Assistants, including:

o provide a pro-active approach to the improvement of the service of the Medical Staffing Department, including the development and review of department/service operating procedures.

o provide advice and guidance to all staff, particularly Divisional Clinical Directors/Directorate Managers/Medical Staff on medical staffing issues and new legislation

o plan, anticipate and implement the appointment to medical posts and in liaison with Divisions.

o liaise with the Postgraduate Deans office, and lead employers with regard to the recruitment and management of employment issues for junior medical staff.

o manage the provision of locum cover, maintaining contact with medical agencies and exceptionally negotiating rates.

o ensure that the conditions of service are kept up to date across the whole medical staffing function and applied to all medical staff accordingly.

o ensure that systems are in place to record General Medical Council registration, immigration status, etc and to action any issues arising.

o regularly update the locum information pack for both senior and junior locum doctors including the Junior Doctors Handbook.

o co-ordinate information and attend open days and evenings for medical students.

GOVERNANCE

Ensure on going timely monitoring of junior doctors hours, taking action to address rota issues as they arise.

Work with other HR staff on interpretation of legislation & national policy to ensure the development, implementation and monitoring of Trust policies and procedures.

Manage the monitoring and compliance of the EWTD and rota's for working through HR Managers to ensure divisional issues are addressed.

Work in partnership with Senior Management to address areas of potential concern or risk to the Trust in relation to Clinical governance or compliance with legislation, codes of practice and standards.

Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines for self and others, by taking action/alerting senior management team if practice appears to contravene policy, or if concerned about any aspect of patient care.
