Medical Device Engineer - Software

Position Summary

We are lookin for a medical device engineer to bring additional software development capability to the product development team. Specifically, this position is responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of software and/or embedded software for an implantable neurostimulator system to treat severe headache.

Essential Functions

* Contribute to or own the software development for a variety of products (device programmer, handheld remote controller, in house tools)
* Develop prototypes for rapid iteration
* Participate in the definition and design of data management projects
* Write software requirements,software design and verification documents
* Manage and participate in software verification activities including reviews and testing
* Develop software tools to streamline data flow and data manipulation in collaboration with R&D and Systems Engineering
* Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, design controls, and FDA regulations
* Participate in risk analysis
* Produce consistently well-documented and easy to maintain code
* Participate in and hold code reviews
* Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related field required
* Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience required. C++, .C#/.NET
* Fundamental knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, CE, and FDA Quality System Regulation
* Experience with test automation
* Experience with FPGAs and TI microcontrollers (MSP430) preferred
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Good documentation practices
* Ability to work independently and with confidence in an evolving ,complex environment
