Media Relations Officer

Our public sector client has a fantastic opportunity for a Media Relations Officer to join them. The Media Relations Office is responsible for promoting the wide-ranging work of this organisation to print, broadcast, specialist and online media, providing journalists with up-to-date information on business.

Duties

- Providing effective media support. This will include: assistance in the delivery of targeted media plans and campaigns; drafting of news releases/quotes; dealing with enquiries from journalists; pitching to relevant media organisations; handling negative media attention, and evaluating media outputs and outcomes against the media plan.
- Responding to general media enquiries
- Acting as an official spokesperson.
- Providing media advice and support in respect
- Providing regular forward looking briefings to the media
- Contributing to and supporting other communication activities as required.
