Principal Duties

Provide mechanical expertise and continuity to the Depth Maintenance Chief for all JEWCS EW equipment.

Undertake mechanical duties as tasked by Depth Maintenance Chief in the execution of Depth tasks.

Undertake Scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance activities to provide Serviceable assets to meet JEWCS tasks.

Undertake mechanical modifications and updates in support of the required maintenance activities to support the generation of serviceable assets.

Assist with the mechanical design of modifications and their installations.

Carries out mechanical technical training for JEWCS EW technicians and familiarisation training for operators.

Raise and staff JEWCS Purchase Requested to support and expedite JEWCS mechanical engineering activities.

Work with contractors and potential contractors where required to support the maintenance of JEWCS assets.

Comply with all JEWCS Configuration, Change and Quality Management procedure and systems when undertaking Depth activities.

Assist in the development and production of engineering and technical drawings, processes, procedures and publications to support JEWCS assets.

Maintain the JEWCS Engineering drawing database.

Prepare engineering drawings, using AUTOCAD software.

Write and produce test and repair procedures.

Assist with Project Management activities in support of tasks for equipment upgrade and overhaul projects as directed by Depth Maintenance Chief.

Carries out additional duties as directed by the JEWCS Engineering Officer.

Additional Duties

The incumbent will be required to perform such other related duties as may be directed by the Director NATO JEWCS.

The incumbent may be required to undertake operational deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and without NATO`s boundaries.

Normally workshop/hangar environment but may deploy occasionally to NATO bases, JEWCS deployment locations and NATO naval ships.

Must be able to liaise effectively, both internally and externally, with military and civilian personnel. Extensive liaison with research and development agencies and civilian contractors in the EW field.

Successful management of the Technical Support Branch is fundamental to NATO JEWCS meeting performance standards during exercises and evaluations.

Duties & Responsibilities

YOU MUST ALREADY HOLD SC LEVEL SECURITY CLEARANCE

Recent experience of maintaining mechanical systems and components, including fabrication.

Working knowledge of Autocad 2010.

Education/Training

ONC/OND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering..

Working at Heights.

Working in Confined Spaces.

Slinger/Banksman.

Forklift.

Desirable

Knowledge of mechanical fixings and fabrication developments

Knowledge of composite materials.

Maintenance and military flight line operations of avionic systems.

Education/Training

Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
