Mechanical Project Engineer

Yoh has a six (6) month plus contract position for a MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER in Alvin, TX.

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Our Client specializes in construction and engineering, staffing and defense - helping leading corporations and governments make the world a better place. The project is a new facility and is a multi-storied structure with no elevator. Candidates must be able to perform physical requirements, such as: walking; kneeling, crouching or crawling; climbing (eg ascending/descending stairs, ramps, ladders, etc., using feet and legs or hands/arms to climb); stooping; balancing (eg) maintaining equilibrium when walking, climbing, and crouching, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Function as both a project manager and discipline engineer on capital and expense projects (heavy industrial/chemical manufacturing plant projects).
- Develop project scopes, estimates, schedules, and construction packages.
- Produce design calculations and equipment sizing.
- Provide field follow-up and start-up support.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- BSME from accredited university.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in petrochemical environment.
- Knowledge of pump and line sizing.
- General knowledge of pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
- Familiarity with pipe stress programs.
- High degree of initiative.
- Knowledge of capital project processes and accounting practices.
- Strong communication, computer, and technical skills.
- Will need to qualify for and obtain TWIC card.
