Mechanical Engineering Technologist Job

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Wilmington, DE.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Work in the areas of structural mechanics, machinery dynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer using state-of-the-art computer modelling techniques, advanced engineering measurements, and unique mechanical testing.
- Support these efforts in material testing and Top Line Grown Programs.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Two-year AAS in Mechanical Engineering with minimum two (2) years of experience in the mechanical testing.
- Knowledge in fundamental understanding of computers and technical software, including familiarity with "WINDOWS", "Word", "Powerpoint", and "Excel".
- Demonstrated written and oral communications skills.
- Interpersonal and people development skills.
- Ability to work as a team member in a respectful manner in a diverse work environment.
- Familiarity with conventional mechanical property measurements on various materials. Should be proficient in use of Instron and MTS servo hydraulic and screw machines. Instrumentation used in mechanical measurement programs, and transducer (sensor) technology such as strain gages/wheatstone bridge, Load cells, Pressure transducers, Temperature ( TC's and RTD's), Quartz force and acceleration transducers, displacement transducers (LVDT's, Laser extensometers and eddy current probes)
- Experienced in the fundamentals and use of MTS and Instron servo hydraulic and screw test frames.
- Experienced with experimental data acquisition and analysis software including "DASYLAB", "Bluehill", MTS Test works, and "MTS Teststar".
- Knowledgeable in Digital photography, standard and high-speed video, and lighting techniques.
- Experienced in fixture design and capable of reading and producing working drawings and sketches.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Machine shop background and experience a plus.
- CAD (Micro Station) capabilities a plus.
