Mechanical Engineer, Plastic/Surfacing Designer Job

MECHANICAL ENGINEER, PLASTIC/SURFACING DESIGNER needed for a CONTRACT HIRE opportunity with Yoh's client located in Lake, Forest, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- BS ME with 7 years of experience in the plastic industry
- Minimum of 5 years in Pro-E/Creo foundation modules (3D Detail Design/Part/Assembly modelling)
- Proficient in Top Down Design (TDD) methodologies and applications of model-centric designs
- Working Knowledge of Industrial surface design using MCAD applications (eg ISDX)
- Knowledge of plastic processes, plastic injection molds, and basic theoretical understanding of plastic theology
- Ability to communicate in a wide range of environments and with a wide range of people in various disciplines

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Design based on a wide range of technical depth and innovative ideas. Solve issues associated with the natural path of product development with creativity and smart designs
- Develop conceptual layouts to capture product specification and function of assembly/component interface, size, location, and placement
- Create complex 3D surface models, large assembly, fabrication drawings utilizing Pro-E Wildfire 5.0
- Design plastic parts/assemblies from scratch or sketches and with minimal instructions/directions. Specify material/finish and selection of OEM components (hardware, fasteners, pins, fitting, etc.)
- Generate detailed fabrication drawings per Global DRM and ASME Y-14M with familiarity of GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Perform complex interference fit checks, and tolerance stack-up analysis on large assemblies Utilize Windchill to configure and manage Pro-E/Creo CAD data
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project completion

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Results oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision, as supervisor the is located abroad
- Candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
- Must be proactive, efficient, customer focused and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Must be a team player and willing to pitch in so that goals of the team are met
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, as well as Microsoft Project and SharePoint
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
