Mechanical Engineer Job

MECHANICAL ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in DEER PARK, IL.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- BSME (Mechanical Engineer)
- Manufacturing, Fabrication, Sheet Metal, Die Castings and Product Development
- CATIA and Electronic Packaging

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Contribute to the mechanical design and development of Multimedia products for the automotive industry by utilizing best in class engineering practices to incorporate innovative design solutions.
- Identify design solutions, establishing design direction and execute to a plan that will end in a successful product launch.
- Maintain mechanical engineering schedule for their own tasks and responsibilities.
- Solicit guidance/feedback as necessary to improve performance.
- Perform tolerance analysis on new or existing designs or concepts to determine theoretical design feasibility.
- Design and conduct experiments using statistical tools and techniques to confirm FEA analysis.
- Interface with program team members, suppliers and customers.
- Travel to customers, suppliers and/or factories as needed.
- Contribute to the support and development of Telematics products for client.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BSME and Five (5)+ years experience in product development:
- Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes such as thin wall injection molding, sheet metal, and die castings.
- Working knowledge of design for Manufacturability (DFM) as well as functional dimensioning, worst-case and statistical tolerance analysis techniques, and geometric tolerance.
- Experienced in applying general mechanical engineering analysis and finite element analysis theory.
- Skilled in analytical/problem solving, data acquisition and have the ability to use statistical tools and techniques.
- CATIA modelling experience required.
- Electronic packaging experience.
- Design experience.
- Must have a working knowledge of common business applications.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to operate within a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are required. This includes the ability prioritize and multitask.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience designing for Class A surfaces
