Mechanical Engineer Job

A MECHANICAL ENGINEER is needed for a long term contract position with Yoh's client located in Kent, WA. The client currently has authorization for nine (9) months, but it can be extended or lead to a career opportunity.

The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Mechanical Engineering experience with New Product Development
- Experience with Material Handling systems
- Experience with Pro-E 3D CAD systems

What You'll Be Doing:
- Primary responsibility of this position is the effective support of the Engineering aspects of specific NPD (New Product Development) projects or programs to develop world class Material Handling products.
- This Contract Engineer will be asked to participate in subsystem development within larger programs, to meet necessary project objectives and commitments.
- The person in this position will work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, supply chain and operations.
- Actively and effectively participate on cross-functional and distributed NPD teams to meet project expectations for performance, cost and schedule.
- Collaborate effectively on shared projects with Engineering team members located in Douai, France and other international locations.
- Participate in Engineering efforts on assigned projects, ensuring compliance with global design standards and intended market specifications.
- Prepare layout models and detailed drawings using Pro/Engineering 3D solid modelling.
- Research and resolve product integrity issues with an appropriate sense of urgency.
- Accurately communicate project status and schedule.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and participation in multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience with 3D CAD systems
- Pro/E is required.
- Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to participate effectively across teams
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
