Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Duties: 
Lead the R&D activities of product development projects, Create detailed product design specifications that meet customer requirements, Communicate design concepts and technical plans effectively, Construct & evaluate prototypes for meeting design specifications, Lead troubleshooting activities of design issues, Perform tolerance analysis of designs and stack-up analysis,Conduct technical design reviews and presentations, Create design verification and validation plans, design fixtures for testing and direct clinically relevant testing to meet requirements, Write detailed protocols and reports Review drawings, create ECO's, Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical engineering with hands-on experience in product design and development

Position Details:

To manage and develop company's suppliers, and their respective processes/systems to prevent defects, and allow us to provide our customers with the highest quality and reliable products.
Improve the cost of quality of parts, processes and products.
Responsible for leading and executing the Supplier Quality programs, and supporting other cross functional departments meet their objectives in acquiring highest quality materials and systems (parts, sub-systems, final assembly, outsourced products, audits, etc.) from suppliers that meet the requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Establish and successfully execute our supplier management and development plans which will align to overall business objectives.

2.Communicate client expectations for continuous improvements and provide leadership for improving the supplier relationship through supplier improvement conference calls, and supplier partnership meetings and effectively provide feedback and work with them constructively to improve their performance levels.

3.Perform thorough supplier audits and assessments of their processes and QMS and drives improvement.

4.Improve material quality by ensuring proper inspection methods and drawing requirements are communicated, understood and deliverable by our suppliers and perform sources inspections.

5.Updates supplier's records, and supplier performance metrics, produce supplier reports and drive improvements.

6.Conducts MRB reviews (In-process-WIP and incoming) and initiate proper corrective action and effective supplier feedback.

7.Assist with Product and Process supplier development- by evaluating and developing supplier processes through process and product and/or tooling validations and provide assistance, conduct supplier review meetings and supplier training.

8.Assist with First Article evaluations and approval of parts, subsystems and products.

9.Use statistical process control and capability studies in assessing supplier processes and capabilities.

10.Demonstrate knowledge of national and international requirements and standards such as FDA QSR Part 820, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, CMDCAS/CMDR and others.

11.Develop our supplier materials, processes capabilities, and quality levels so that we have a high degree of confidence and low degree of risk to move supplier material to Dock-to-Stock.

12.Create Material Inspection Instructions to support Receiving Inspection and align the inspections methods between our suppliers and our company.

13.Provide Manufacturing, Quality and other departments with timely investigations into supplier in-process quality issues, including coordinating material purges, participating in QITs/CITs, inspections, and corrective actions (SCAR, SCN).

14.Assist in performing Failure Analysis and inspection techniques on supplier materials.

15.Assist by writing, and revising policies, procedures and creating forms to support our supplier development processes.

16.20% - 30% travel may be required in order to perform supplier assessments and development.

17.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering with emphasis in Engineering, Materials, Quality Assurance, or Quality Systems
