Mechanical Engineer

A Fortune 500 energy company is currently seeking 2 Mechanical Engineers with nuclear design experience associated with power generating stations for Brunswick Nuclear Plant in Southport, NC. These projects are scheduled to last 1 year, with the possibility of extension. Per diem and mobilization / demobilization will be available for qualified candidates. Actual pay rate will be commensurate with experience, so all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Please indicate your desired rate during the application process. Must be able to obtain unescorted nuclear plant access.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Obtain qualifications as a Modification Engineer in order to be fully functional in this position with demonstration / documentation of past qualification as a modification engineer at other nuclear stations acceptable
- Engineering design package development, develop conceptual designs for bidding purposes, evaluate alternative options, coordination of design efforts with selected designer, design revisions during implementation and conduct reviews / approvals of design products covering a range of areas associated with a broad range of mechanical equipment upgrades

REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering. PE desired but not required
- 5+ years of nuclear power plant design engineering experience
- Nuclear design experience associated with power generating stations
- Current qualification at a nuclear utility as a Modification Engineer under and INPO Accredited Program and knowledge of Passport for design and work order development is highly desirable
- Experience in the design of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping & valves, instrumentation interfaces, thermal analysis, diesel generators and support systems are desired
