Mechanical Design-Water

I am currently looking for a mechanical design engineer to work in the North East on a 2 year contract. The company have a vacancy for a committed, self-motivated, conscientious mechanical design engineer to join the multidiscipline design department. The candidate will deliver the mechanical design content of water industry projects, working closely with our Project Managers and Construction Team. This will include the delivery oof the mechanical design for water industry projects at all stages, from feasibility and optioning through to detailed designs for construction. The duties will range from surveying and reporting on existing installations, to determining the mechanical solutions for pumping stations, mechanical screening, pipework, gantry steelwork, including writing the works information documentation and site reports. Covering a varied scope of works on both clean and dirty water sites. The ideal candidate will fulfil: Ability to produce Site Layouts, plant layouts, piping layouts, detail drawings, fabrication drawings and steelwork drawings using AutoCad 2D. Calculations for checking beams and steels are done by one of our specialist sub contractors. A good working knowledge of sewage and clean water processes. Knowledge of wet well pumping stations, screening packages, compactors The ability to undertake site surveys and come up with good practical engineering solutions.
