Mechanical Design Engineer - Solidworks

As a Design Engineer you will work as part of a small development team located in Dundee and liaise with an overseas supplier.

The client designs and manufactures Self Service machines which include ATM's, Self service tills, ticketing machines and a range of other card machines and scanners. A key requirement for this design role is to have a deep understanding of designing molded plastic parts and working with closely with tooling suppliers.
Encompassed in this role will be the design of mechanisms/mechanical devices with Solidworks. The role will be responsible for creating design concepts and progressing these through to assembly and design validation.

Responsibilities:

*Evaluate different concepts and provide design recommendations
*Creating cost effective and innovative design concepts
*Create design packages ready for Supplier part production, specifically plastic tooling
*Conduct Design reviews and gather cross functional feedback
*Release packages using the approved system all relevant documentation

Preferred experience:

*A Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
*Good analytic and problem solving skills
*Solid Design experience with SolidWorks
*An understanding of mechanical drive systems
*Design of Plastic parts and worked closely with tooling provider
*Module/Product architectures
*Supplier liaison experience
