Mechanical Design Engineer - ProE

A global organisation based in Leicestershire are currently looking for a mechanical design engineer on a 3-6 month rolling contract. You will be involved in decision precision components for the aerospace industry. Qualifications/Requirements HND/ HNC/ BEng/ MEng in Mechanical Engineering. A solid understanding of engineering drawing practice standards. A solid design background using 3D packages required (specifically Pro-Engineer). Basic knowledge of materials, welding and standard manufacturing processes. Familiarity with industry standards and design codes. Knowledge of Engineering design theory and structural mechanics. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to make own technical decisions based on knowledge and experience. Desired Characteristics Experience of "design for assembly" techniques and tools. Experience of structural mechanics; stress analysis calculations, strength of materials, cylinder theory etc. Knowledge of sensors engineering and specifications. Working knowledge of the aerospace industry and associated documentation requirements. Experience in producing comprehensive design reports. Master's degree or equivalent; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Chartered Status with suitable Professional Body.
