Mechanical Design Engineer - Kent - 6 Month Contract

I am currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a 6 month contract based in Kent, the correct candidate must have experience in the following;

*Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of mechanical engineering experience in designing innovative, cost-effective products using effective DFMA and lean design; or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
*Excellent knowledge of stress analysis, vibration analysis (sine, random, and shock), and thermal analysis using various methods including finite element analysis.
*Experienced with manufacturing techniques including sheet metal fabrication, extrusion and injection moulding.
*Minimum of 3 years of using SolidWorks CAD and proficient in the use of analysis suites, finite element analysis, and 3DVia Composer.
*Solid experience working with and preparing DFMEA's and PFMEA's
*Proficient computer skills including and general business applications software (ie Microsoft Office).
*Effective English communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to produce good technical design documentation.
*Electrical engineering and Safety-related product experience desired.
*Familiarity with electronics packaging desired
*Experience at working across different international sites and working with off-shore manufacturing sites a plus.
*Occasional travel required to visit Customers and Suppliers. Must be able to travel internationally

Rate is negotiable depending on experience.
