Mechanical Design Engineer

I am currently recruiting for a mechanical design engineer in the west country.

This is a contract role - initially for three months with a very good chance to extend.

Candidates must be capable of:

-Being productive in producing drawings
- Capable of designing on their own initiative
- Capable of doing basic hand calculations on beams
- Have understanding of the salient main features of materials such as ceramics, refractory metals, stainless steels for use in Vacuum, aluminium alloys
- Understand the effect of heat on different materials in both transmission and expansion
- Have understanding of limits and fits
- Must be mechanical (Electro-Mech not suitable)
- We would prefer knowledge of mechanisms and gears
- Used 3D Solid CAD to design with (Any of the main products such as Inventor, Solid Works, Creo (Pro Eng)
- Used CAD database management system to control models & drawings
- Used Engineering Change Systems
- Created BoMs
- Working well in a team environment
- Responding well to instruction
- Offering solutions to problems
- Good time keeping
