Mechanical Design Engineer

Design Engineer openings with a client located in the Indianapolis, IN area for someone with experience in gas turbine or similar high tech industry. These positions will be responsible to plans, performs, and directs design activities for structural systems and components and/or externals components, tube (fuel, lube, and air), support brackets, electrical harnesses, and cold structures. Local candidates or those able to self relocate preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Plans, performs, and directs design activities for structural systems and components and/or mechanical design of externals components, tube (fuel, lube, and air), support brackets, electrical harnesses, and cold structures.
- Support product improvement initiatives to improve component quality and reliability, reduce scrap, improve delivery, and reduce cost
- Facilitates teamwork between many disciplines including CAD modelers, stress analysts, project managers
- Performs engineering analysis and documents results

REQUIREMENTS

- B.S. Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in gas turbine or similar high tech industry
- Proficient in the use of Teamcenter and Nx
- Component manufacturing experience, basic understanding of machining and joining process
- Ability to generate and interpret component and assembly drawings; and working knowledge of GD&T
- Good command of the English language for both written and oral communication
- Facilitates teamwork between many disciplines including CAD modelers, stress analysts, project managers
