Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer with product design and development of hydraulic and mechanical products and equipment, ideally in the aircraft industry (ground support service). 3d / solid modeling experience, preferable in Solid Works or ACAD. You will work on new product design and redesign for product improvement. Temp to hire position in South Orange County.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Consult with Ground Fueling Department and Sales to establish project parameters and formulate a project plan
- Prepare product design proposals with enough detail to estimate cost of materials and manufacturing
- Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies between prototype designs and applicable governmental and commercial specifications and design standards
- Investigate and resolve new materials and manufacturing processes
- Evaluate and respond to questions regarding product design problems and potential applications with sales representatives and customers

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with at least 5
- 5+ years of experience in the design and development of mechanical and / or hydraulic components, parts and systems
- Working knowledge of fluid systems including flow of fluids and fluid dynamics
- Working knowledge of casting design, machine shop and foundry practices
- AutoCAD and SolidWorks CAD (or equivalent solid modeling) software programs, as well as basic knowledge of spreadsheet software programs (Excel)
