Materials Research Technician Job

MATERIALS RESEARCH TECHNICIAN needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Sunnyvale, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Perform routine optical measurements and tests on coated substrates according to established procedures
- Perform routine physical property and analytical testing on fluids according to established procedures
- Maintain proper inventory levels for lab consumables
- Cleaning, cutting, and preparation of glass and plastic substrates for coating tests
- Organization and cleaning of laboratory items such as glassware
- Enter data and create charts using software tools such as Excel
- Highlight and report data to responsible persons.
- Adhere to company policies, safety rules, and work instructions

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Experience with handling chemicals. Basic understanding of lab safety and hygiene concepts.
- Detail oriented with an ability to follow specific instructions and flexibility to a changing and fast-moving environment.
- Self-starter with good communication, documentation and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy (Word and Excel. Statistical analysis software a plus)
- Experience operating a SEM is a plus.
- AA in material science, electron microscopy, engineering, chemistry or equivalent.
- Two (2+) years' experience working in a research lab environment.
