Materials Manager - Cost Reduction/Automotive

MATERIALS MANAGER - COST REDUCTION/AUTOMOTIVE

We are currently recruiting for a Materials Manager/Team Leader to assist in the Cost Reductions of a multinational organisation. The successful candidate will need/focus drive to reduce the overall material cost of production. Initially this is a 12 month project but is very likely to extend based in Staffordshire.

- To coordinate and lead a cross functional team to deliver the material cost down target for 2014 and 2015.
- Key areas of focus are cost down through: - - Simplification
- Design change
- Cost
- Negotiation
- Establish visible Lean Management
- Lead weekly sessions to update on progress
- Track, monitor and ensure timelines for cost down opportunities are maintained
- Ensure the suppliers on boarded through LCC sources are capable and on schedule (APQP/PPAP/TAN)
- Attend governance sessions, and report progress to the Business Leadership
- Develop metrics and measures to track progress
- Establish system AVIDs to look for cost down opportunities
- Develop a pipeline of cost down opportunities for 2015/2016
- Lead/establish validation planning and track to completion
