Material Handler

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a MATERIAL HANDLER to join our client in Northridge, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Performing the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials to designated storage area
- Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
- Examines stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on production line as requested
- Pulls stored materials for orders and moves to production or shipping area as requested.
- Packaged products as required for shipment to company's customers and suppliers.
- Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary and work with planner to return to vendor.
- Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift.
- Distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
- Other duties as assigned by Integration Supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma
- Two (2) years minimum Shipping/Receiving, Packaging and Materials Handling experience preferred
- Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
- Must be able to work without requiring direct supervision
- Must also be able to perform task(s) per verbal and written instructions

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
- Knowledge of current industry practices in regards to receiving and shipping processes.
- Knowledge of Shipping/Receiving and Material Handling systems.
- System Knowledge of Oracle, Siebel, Agile.
- Desired knowledge of understanding Sales Orders, Work Orders, Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environment
- Proficient data entry/typing skills.
- Able to function effectively in a team environment.
