Material Expeditor

Yoh has a long term contract opportunity for a MATERIAL EXPEDITOR with its client in Salem, West Virginia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- MATERIAL EXPEDITOR Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between laydown areas and construction jobsite(s).
- Will be solely responsible for taking engineering drawings, specifically piping isometric drawings (Bill of Materials) and "BAGGING AND TAGGING" all material per isometric spool or system, including but not limited to electrical and instrumentation components to support an extremely aggressive construction schedule.
- MATERIAL EXPEDITOR Reads priority construction list schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
- Confers with Site Project Coordinator and Site Construction Manager to determine material shortages, overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status. Directly reports to Project Coordinator.
- Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas, manually or using handcart, hand truck, or forklift.
- MATERIAL EXPEDITOR Records and maintains inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed, manually or using computer or feeding hand delivered copies to Project Coordinator.
- Compiles and maintains records, such as material inventory records, production records, and timecards, manually or using computer.
- MATERIAL EXPEDITOR May direct INDUSTRIAL-TRUCK OPERATOR or MATERIAL HANDLER to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.
- May examine material received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts.
- May compare work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment.
- MAY DRIVE TRUCK TO OUTLYING WORK AREAS TO CHECK STATUS OF ORDERS OR TO DELIVER MATERIALS.
- MOST DAYS WILL CONSIST OF SUPPORTING FIELD CONSTRUCTION TEAMS AND "BAGGING AND TAGGING" COMPONENTS TO EACH RESPECTIVE SYSTEM. He/she will also insure all electrical and piping connexes are organized and clean to facilitate quick turnarounds from field material requests.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Prior experience in Material handling and Material expedition
- Experience working in a very fast paced environment
- Will be required to clear background (DMV, and state/Fed checks)
