MANUFACTURING (PRODUCTION) ENGINEER

Overview:

Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems; with business activities covering civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation, science and navigation programmes - together with a complete range of associated ground infrastructure and space equipment.

They are currently looking to recruit a Manufacturing (Production) Engineer to work at their Portsmouth site on a contract basis - expected to last 6 months. Candidates must have current Secuirty Clearance.

Responsibilities:

Define the detailed MAIT (Manufacturing Assembly, Integration and Test) activities work-flow of an equipment, main assembly or final product (with associated documentation and procedures)
Define MAIT work operations and write MAIT documentation - making sure the necessary qualified processes exist
Build the manufacturing planning and cost model
Define machine, jigs & tools and their associated maintenance

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have previous experience of working within a high-reliability manufacturing production line for electronics sub-systems. Experience of working on a space manufacturing assembly line would be advantageous.
MAIT Methods/Engineering documentation
MAIT assets and working methods
MAIT product & process documentation
Production MRP Systems

Knowledge of SAP Manufacturing Execution Systems would also be advantageous.
